Job summary

CBW Staffing Solutions is seeking a Mechanical Maintenance Supervisor for a blue-chip commercial office in London. You will oversee mechanical and general building services, supervise engineers, coordinate maintenance, and ensure safety standards are met.

The role involves leading a team, liaising with the client and stakeholders, and delivering proactive and reactive maintenance in a busy facilities management environment.

Qualifications

• NVQ / City & Guilds Level 3 - Plumbing, Refrigeration and Air Conditioning 6187 or similar.
• Electrical qualifications (bonus, but not essential).
• Experienced in electrical and mechanical aspects of general building service, repair, and installation.
• Exceptional knowledge and experience with Mechanical Systems and HVAC.
• Knowledge of electrical principles including safe isolation and fault finding.
• Use of BMS to fault find issues.
• Authorised Person – Mechanical (Desirable).
• Experience leading a large team.

Responsibilities

• Oversee delivery of mechanical and general building services across the site.
• Supervise the team of engineers and conduct performance reviews and timesheet approvals.
• Coordinate planned and reactive maintenance and manage specialist contractors.

Job description

Mechanical Maintenance Supervisor - FM Service Provider - New Commercial Blue-Chip Office - London (City) - Up to £60,000

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Mechanical Maintenance Supervisor to join a commercial blue-chip building in London (Liverpool Street). The property is a New, large, modern office development in the heart of the City, providing a busy and professional facilities management environment. The successful candidate will oversee the delivery of mechanical and general building services across the site. The role involves supervising a team of engineers, coordinating planned and reactive maintenance, managing specialist contractors, and ensuring statutory compliance and health and safety standards are consistently maintained. You will also work closely with the client and key stakeholders to support the smooth day-to-day operation of the building.

Hours of work

Monday to Friday - 08:00am to 17:00pm

Key duties & Responsibilities

• Adherence to set engineering standards in accordance with Health and Safety at Work Act (HASAWA) requirements, ensuring that the engineering team also comply.
• To ensure onsite Quality Assurance procedures are adhered to in all respects and to maintain accurate records/documentation associated with the mechanical/HVAC aspects of the plant.
• Have a good understanding of BMS and Control Systems associated with Mechanical Plant and Equipment to assist fault diagnosis and correct set up.
• Supervise the team in all aspects of work, undertaking people management activities such as Safety Briefings, absence reporting, performance reviews, annual leave and timesheet approvals.
• Plan and arrange staff training to support their development.
• Ensure that you and the team undertake repairs to HVAC Plant and Associated Systems to a high standard.
• Ensure that you and the team undertake installation, alteration and repairs to pipework systems as needed to a high standard and in good time to minimise impact of downtime.
• To support and guide your team with on-the-job training and development through your own experience and competence
• To respond in a prompt and effective manner to any Helpdesk related reactive maintenance issues, associated with the heating and ventilation systems, pumps, water tanks, valves, pipework and associated mechanical systems or as directed, ensuring that your team do similar.
• Ensure that all necessary systems and portals are utilised to capture work output including use of the CAFM system.
• Ensure effective supply chain management through regular reviews and interaction, particularly in the planning of quoted/project works.
• Manager spares effectively and order required parts to complete tasks on time

Requirements

• You will hold current qualifications to work as a Mechanical engineer including.
• NVQ / City & Guilds Level 3 - Plumbing, Refrigeration and Air Conditioning 6187 or similar
• Electrical qualifications (Would be a bonus, but not essential)
• Experienced in the electrical and mechanical aspects of general building service, repair, and installation
• Exceptional knowledge and experience working with and repairing Mechanical Systems and Heating and Ventilation Systems
• Knowledge of electrical principles including safe isolation, controls and basic fault finding
• Use of BMS to fault find any issues
• Authorised Person – Mechanical (Desirable)
• Experience working with a large team of varying abilities.
