Job summary

A mechanical and electrical contractor in the UK seeks an experienced Maintenance Technician for maintenance in commercial and domestic settings. Responsibilities

  • Perform reactive and planned maintenance in various settings.
  • Fault find and rectify leaks, faulty toilets, and heating systems.
  • Carry out checks and services on boilers, hot and cold-water supplies.
  • Support the major projects team during the defect period.

Job description

Mechanical and Electrical Contractor based in Warwick and established for over 50 years. We work for main contractors such as Willmott Dixon and Galliford Try and directly for clients including the National Trust and Warwick Castle.

Responsibilities
  • Perform reactive and planned maintenance in a variety of commercial and domestic settings such as offices, health centres, hotels, schools, residential, care homes, student accommodation, etc.
  • Fault find and rectify leaks, faulty toilets, boilers, heating systems and out‑of‑order downpipes.
  • Carry out once‑or‑twice yearly checks and services on boilers, hot and cold‑water supplies, heating and ventilation.
  • Support the major projects team during the 12– or 24‑month defect period and coordinate visits with Customer Care.
  • Travel within the Midlands, predominantly Birmingham but also Nottingham and surrounding areas.
  • Communicate with customers in a respectful, polite and professional manner.
Qualifications
  • At least five years relevant experience in construction, either installation or maintenance.
  • NVQ in Plumbing – domestic and commercial.
  • NVQ in Heating and Ventilation.
  • Gas Safe Qualified (Domestic minimum).
  • Relevant trade CSCS skills card.
  • Full UK driver’s licence.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Ability to work independently and pro‑actively and make decisions where required.

Package
  • Hours: 08:00 am – 05:00 pm with one hour lunch, Monday to Friday.
