Job summary

Hrgo-Recruitment is seeking a Mechanical Maintenance Engineer for a shift-based role at Clacton-On-Sea. The position involves supporting a global manufacturer, performing planned and reactive maintenance on production machinery.

You will handle plant checks, respond to line breakdowns, and contribute to machinery modifications, with 4 on 4 off days and nights. A time-served mechanical background and PLC/HMI knowledge are preferred.

Qualifications

• Time-served or formally qualified in Mechanical Engineering (NVQ, City & Guilds, HNC/HND or equivalent).
• Knowledge of hydraulics/pneumatics.
• Electrical fault-finding experience – Beneficial.
• PLC / HMI fault finding experience (Allen Bradley, Siemens S7) – Beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Plant checks affecting repairs as required.
• Responding to production line breakdowns.
• Planned Maintenance.
• Ownership of Plant such as compressors, water treatment plant and cooling equipment.
• Assist in design and implementation of Machinery modifications.

Salary: GBP42600 - GBP42600 per annum + 11.2% Non Contributory Company Pension

Mechanical Maintenance Engineer (Shift – 4 on 4 off Days/Nights)

• Salary Guide: £42,600 PA, Depending on experience

• Hours of work: 7 AM – 7 PM and 7 PM – 7 AM
• Job Type: Permanent

We are seeking a Shift Mechanical Maintenance Engineer to join a well-established global manufacturer of specialty paper alternatives. The role involves performing a broad range of planned and reactive maintenance tasks across various production machinery to ensure minimal downtime and optimal performance.

The successful candidate will use your knowledge to maintain and improve the performance of the machines used in day-to-day manufacture.

Duties:

• Plant checks affecting repairs as required
• Responding to production line breakdowns
• Planned Maintenance
• Ownership of Plant such as compressors, water treatment plant and cooling equipment
• Assist in design and implementation of Machinery modifications.

Any experience of working on Extrusion Machinery would be beneficial.

Mechanical Knowledge & Experience:

• Strong mechanical engineering knowledge; experience in machining and turning for repairs.
• Skilled in fault-finding and fixing mechanical issues; supports modifications and projects.
• Welding experience (MIG, TIG, Arc, Gas).
• Basic electrical fault-finding advantageous.
• Good health & safety awareness; conducts plant checks and repairs.
• Effective team player.
