Job summary

Omega Resource Group is seeking a Maintenance Engineer in Rutland to maintain and improve a fast-paced injection moulding environment. The role covers breakdown support, PPMs, and engineering projects within a modern automated facility.

You will diagnose electrical and mechanical faults, work with production and external suppliers, and contribute to OEE improvements while upholding safety standards. The position offers a 4 on 4 off days and nights shift pattern and a £47,000 salary.

Qualifications

Time-served engineer with electrical or mechanical bias and multi-skilled experience is preferred.
Experience in manufacturing or production environments essential.
Injection moulding experience is advantageous.
Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills on automated equipment.

Responsibilities

Provide breakdown support across injection moulding machines, automation systems and related equipment.
Carry out planned preventive maintenance to maximise reliability.
Diagnose and repair electrical and mechanical faults safely and efficiently.
Support improvement projects to enhance processes and OEE.
Collaborate with production, engineering and suppliers to achieve objectives.
Promote safety and ensure compliance with procedures.
Mentor colleagues to develop engineering capability within the team.
Assist fellow engineers and departments as required.

Responsibilities - Maintenance Engineer

Provide breakdown support across injection moulding machines, automation systems, and ancillary equipment.
Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) activities to maximise equipment reliability and performance.
Diagnose and repair electrical and mechanical faults in a safe and efficient manner.
Support continuous improvement projects to enhance manufacturing processes and equipment effectiveness.
Work closely with production, engineering, and external suppliers to deliver operational objectives.
Contribute to initiatives focused on improving Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE).
Ensure all maintenance activities are completed in line with health and safety standards and company procedures.
Assist with training and mentoring colleagues to develop engineering capability across the team.
Support fellow engineers and departments as required.
Promote and maintain a positive safety culture throughout the site.

Experience / Qualifications - Maintenance Engineer

Time-served engineer with an electrical or mechanical bias (multi-skilled experience highly desirable).
Previous experience within a manufacturing or production environment.
Injection moulding experience would be highly advantageous.
Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills across automated production equipment.
Self-motivated with a proactive approach to improving equipment performance and reliability.
Ability to work effectively within a team and collaborate across multiple departments.
Good understanding of health and safety requirements within an industrial environment.
