Ata-Recruitment-Ltd is seeking a Maintenance Engineer in Barnsley to keep specialist manufacturing equipment running safely and efficiently. The role offers a £49,471 salary and a Panama shift pattern, with roughly half the year on days and nights.

You will receive specialist training on injection moulding, extrusion and other machinery, and have the chance to develop broad multi-skilled engineering expertise.

Qualifications

• A recognised Level 3 engineering qualification or equivalent.
• Multi-skilled maintenance experience within a manufacturing environment.
• Strong mechanical and electrical fault-finding skills.

Responsibilities

• Carrying out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance.
• Fault finding and diagnosing electrical and mechanical issues.
• Maintaining specialist injection moulding and plastic extrusion machinery.
• Responding to breakdowns and minimising production downtime.
• Working safely on electrical control panels and associated equipment.
• Identifying opportunities to improve machinery reliability and performance.
• Thinking creatively and using a “fix it properly” approach to fault finding.

About the role

Working as part of the engineering team, you will be responsible for keeping specialist manufacturing equipment running safely and efficiently.

Your responsibilities will include:

About you

We are looking for a Maintenance Engineer who is either mechanically or electrically biased.

You will ideally have:

• A recognised Level 3 engineering qualification or equivalent.
• Multi-skilled maintenance experience within a manufacturing environment.
• Strong mechanical and electrical fault-finding skills.
• If mechanically biased, the ability to work safely within a control panel and carry out electrical maintenance tasks independently.
• A logical, methodical and out-of-the-box approach to fault finding.
• The ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.

Experience within a particular manufacturing industry isn't essential. Engineers from a wide range of factory and manufacturing backgrounds are encouraged to apply.
