Job summary

Stirling Warrington is recruiting a mechanically biased Maintenance Engineer for a busy manufacturing site in Birmingham. You will work 4 on/4 off on a days and nights rotation (7am-7pm and 7pm-7am) maintaining heavy process machinery to minimise downtime.

The role offers £55,000 - £59,400 DOE with a 21% pension and a structured ladder progression plan. Training and succession planning are provided to help you advance into more senior maintenance positions.

Qualifications

• Qualified to level 3 (NVQ/C&G) in mechanical discipline.
• Minimum 4 years' experience maintaining/repairing heavy machinery.
• Experience in FMCG/manufacturing sectors welcomed.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and repair heavy process machinery to minimise downtime.
• Support 4 on/4 off shift pattern (days and nights).
• Assist in training and succession planning initiatives.

Experience required for the mechanical maintenance engineer:

• Qualified to level 3 (NVQ/C&G) or Apprenticeship served in a mechanical discipline
• Is advantageous, this can be through the military (ex-forces)
• least 4 years experience maintaining/repairing special purpose machinery - any heavy industry is advantageous but not a deal breaker
• mechanically competent - hydraulics/pneumatics, bearings, straps, belts, chains etc.
