Job summary

CV Consulting Ltd in the West Midlands is seeking a proactive Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer (mechanical bias) to join the engineering team on permanent double days. You will perform PPM, reactive maintenance, fault finding and drive improvements across production equipment.

You will work with production and engineering teams, complete CMMS records, and ensure safety standards. The role requires a recognised mechanical qualification and practical experience in fast-paced manufacturing.

Qualifications

• Proven multi-skilled maintenance experience in manufacturing.
• Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills.
• Knowledge of bearings, conveyors, gearboxes, pneumatics and hydraulics.
• Electrical maintenance knowledge required.
• Experience with automated production equipment preferred.

Responsibilities

Multi-Skilled Mechanical Maintenance Engineer

West Midlands, Permanent Shift Pattern: Double Days

Salary: £54,000 - £55,700 per annum + benefits

We are seeking an experienced and proactive Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer with a Mechanical bias to join the engineering team in the West Midlands. Working permanent double days, you will be responsible for carrying out planned preventative maintenance (PPM), reactive maintenance, fault finding, and continuous improvement activities within a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Maintenance Engineer Responsibilities

• Carry out planned preventative and reactive maintenance on a range of production machinery and site equipment.
• Diagnose and resolve faults to minimise downtime.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance equipment reliability and efficiency.
• Complete maintenance records accurately using the site's CMMS system.
• Ensure all work is carried out in line with health and safety procedures and company standards.
• Assist with machinery installations, upgrades, and improvement projects.
• Work collaboratively with production and engineering teams to achieve operational targets.

Essential Requirements

• Hold a recognised mechanical engineering qualification, such as NVQ Level 3, City & Guilds, HNC/HND, apprenticeship, or equivalent.
• Proven experience working as a Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer within a fast-paced manufacturing, production, or industrial environment.
• Strong mechanical fault-finding and diagnostic skills.
• Electrical maintenance knowledge
• Experience working with automated production equipment.
• Good mechanical maintenance knowledge, including bearings, conveyors, gearboxes, pneumatics, and hydraulics.
• Ability to work independently and make effective decisions during night shifts.
• Strong communication skills and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
