Qualifications

• Extensive experience maintaining industrial machinery or production equipment.
• Strong mechanical maintenance skills and electrical fault-finding ability.
• Hands-on experience with hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
• Knowledge of PLCs and machine control systems.
• Experience working with power presses.
• Ability to read engineering and electrical drawings.
• Methodical troubleshooting and root-cause analysis.
• Good communication and ability to work independently or in a small team.
• Driving licence and passport valid.

Responsibilities

• Respond to machinery breakdowns and minimise downtime.
• Carry out preventative maintenance and TPM activities.
• Diagnose faults and identify root causes to prevent recurrence.
• Maintain mechanical and electrical systems across specialist machinery.
• Fault-find on hydraulic, pneumatic, PLC and machine control systems.
• Read and interpret engineering and electrical drawings.
• Record maintenance work, repairs and equipment modifications.

This is a hands‑on role supporting specialist production equipment within the metal‑forming industry, combining planned maintenance, reactive breakdown support and technical fault‑finding.

• Knowledge of PLCs and machine control systems.
• Experience working with power presses.
• Ability to read engineering and electrical drawings.
• A methodical approach to troubleshooting and root‑cause analysis.
• Good communication skills and the ability to work independently or within a small team.
• Comfortable using maintenance software and standard computer applications.
• Full UK driving licence and current passport.

Qualifications and Desirable Skills

• Relevant engineering apprenticeship, City & Guilds or NVQ Level 2/3 qualification.
• Knowledge of CLM PLC controls.
• Power press safety knowledge or a relevant press regulations course.
• Hydraulic and pneumatic qualifications.
• Forklift experience (training available).
