Reporting to the MEP Construction Manager in the region, the key requirements include:
- 3rd level Building Services / Mechanical Engineering Degree and/or Trade background
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a site-based MEP role
- Strong collaboration skills and ability to work as part of a high-performance team
Key responsibilities:
- Ensure Mechanical activities are completed safely, prioritizing health and safety for all stakeholders
- Lead by example, promoting company health & safety policies and integrating safety into all discussions
- Be aware of hazardous energies on site and ensure management strategies like Lock Out Tag Out are followed
- Maintain knowledge of project Mechanical systems and monitor their installation for compliance with specifications and schedule
- Understand project-specific commissioning requirements and assist in developing Commissioning Implementation Plans (CIPs)
- Conduct site inspections of Mechanical, BAS/BMS, MEP & CSA works to ensure compliance
- Coordinate that areas meet CSA and MEP quality standards for beneficial use, aligned with the construction program
- Provide stakeholders with sufficient information to facilitate system installation and project progression
- Ensure contractors and vendors are properly resourced to complete their works efficiently
- Review the master construction schedule to identify opportunities for sequencing and focus on work faces to improve delivery
- Chair and contribute to onsite and offsite meetings with project stakeholders
- Issue weekly progress and cost reports as required
- Manage sub-contractor activities, tracking progress and manpower levels
- Review and ensure production of necessary documents such as construction and commissioning programs, work trackers, risk assessments, method statements, progress reports, and handover packs
