Job summary

Michael Page is recruiting for a hands-on Fitter / Welder on a site-based role in Nottingham. The successful candidate will weld, fabricate and repair recycling plant equipment, carrying out fitting work and supporting planned maintenance to improve plant reliability and reduce downtime.

You will follow permit-to-work systems, carry out hot work with safety standards, and work alongside engineering and operations teams to maximise availability.

Qualifications

A hands-on Fitter / Welder position responsible for welding, fabrication, mechanical repairs and maintenance across recycling plant and site equipment. You'll play a key role in improving plant reliability, reducing downtime and supporting operational performance in a safety-focused environment.

Description

• Carry out welding, fabrication and fitting work on recycling plant and equipment.
• Repair and replace wear plates, conveyors, guards, chutes, hoppers and structural components.

Profile

• Experienced Fitter, Welder, Fabricator or Maintenance Technician.
• Background within recycling, waste, aggregates, construction, manufacturing or heavy industry.
• Skilled in welding, fabrication, mechanical fitting and repair work.
• Strong understanding of permit systems, risk assessments and safe working practices.
• Able to work independently and deliver high-quality, durable repairs.

Job Offer

• Salary of £35,000-£45,000 DOE.
