Job summary

Building Careers UK Ltd is seeking an experienced Mechanical Estimator with a strong background in mechanical building services to help deliver technically challenging projects across multiple sectors. In the pre-construction function, you will prepare accurate, competitive tenders, manage take-offs, cost plans and supplier quotations, and handover successful bids to the delivery team.

You will liaise with design, commercial and operations to ensure value-engineered solutions that meet programme

Qualifications

• Experience as Mechanical Estimator or M&E Estimator in building services.
• Strong technical and commercial understanding of mechanical systems.
• Ability to analyse drawings, specs and schedules for accurate estimates.

Responsibilities

• Review tender enquiries to determine full mechanical scope.
• Prepare detailed estimates for mechanical packages.
• Undertake quantity take-offs from drawings and specs.
• Produce labour, material, plant and subcontractor costings.
• Issue enquiries to suppliers and obtain quotations.
• Support value engineering and risk identification in tendering.
