Job summary

Building Careers UK Ltd is seeking an experienced Pre-Construction Manager / Mechanical Estimator in the Lancashire region. The role combines strong mechanical building services expertise with estimating, pricing and commercial awareness to shape proposals from early enquiry through to tender submission.

You will work across pre-construction and tender stages, taking ownership of opportunities and developing technically sound, commercially competitive solutions that meet client requirements and

Qualifications

• Strong mechanical building services/HVAC knowledge.
• Experience in estimating and pre-construction or similar role.
• Experience pricing mechanical projects and developing technical solutions.
• Good understanding of Design & Build principles.
• Ability to develop solutions rather than rely on finished designs.
• Experience producing scopes of work and tender submissions.
• Strong understanding of mechanical systems, materials, labour and costs.

Responsibilities

• Review enquiries, specifications and tender documents and develop scopes of work for mechanical/HVAC projects.
• Produce detailed and accurate estimates and take-offs.
• Develop Design & Build opportunities from concept through to submission.
• Review drawings and technical information to identify risks and opportunities.
• Prepare tender submissions and commercial proposals; liaise with clients and suppliers.
