Job summary

Effective Recruitment Solutions Ltd in Gravesend, Kent, seeks an experienced Mechanical Estimator to own pricing and tender submissions for a growing building services contractor. You will analyse drawings, prepare estimates and work with the contracts team to drive profitable bids.

You will source supplier and subcontractor prices, negotiate terms and manage multiple tenders to meet deadlines while ensuring smooth handover to operations.

Qualifications

• Experience estimating mechanical building services projects.
• Ability to interpret drawings and specifications.
• Strong numeracy and commercial awareness.
• Experience taking-offs and cost estimates.
• Capable of handling multiple tenders under deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Analyse drawings, specifications and employer requirements.
• Prepare take-offs, BOQs and cost estimates.
• Source and negotiate supplier and subcontractor prices.
• Take ownership of pricing and tender submissions.
• Work with Contract Managers and Directors.
• Attend meetings and support negotiations.
• Ensure smooth handover to operations.
• Manage multiple tenders and deadlines.
• Produce accurate and competitive submissions.
