Job summary

Building Careers UK Ltd is seeking an experienced Mechanical Industrial Estimator to join an established engineering business delivering complex mechanical and industrial projects across multiple sectors in the United Kingdom. The role focuses on taking projects from enquiry and technical review through to detailed costing, commercial assessment and final tender submission.

The successful candidate will review tender enquiries, drawings and specifications to develop comprehensive estimates

Qualifications

Strong mechanical engineering background and estimating experience
Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications and technical documentation
Experience producing detailed cost estimates including labour, materials, plant and subcontractors

Responsibilities

Managing mechanical and industrial tenders from initial enquiry through to final submission
Reviewing tender documentation, technical specifications, drawings and client requirements
Producing accurate and detailed cost estimates for mechanical engineering projects
Undertaking material and equipment take-offs from drawings and specifications
Calculating labour requirements, productivity rates and installation costs
Preparing detailed estimates covering labour, materials, plant, equipment, subcontractors and preliminaries
Obtaining quotations from suppliers and subcontractors and analysing them for compliance
