Job summary

Linea Recruitment Ltd in London is seeking an experienced Mechanical Estimator to join a growing Design & Build MEP contractor. You will produce accurate estimates from initial enquiry through tender submission, working with pre-construction and commercial teams on a range of commercial, residential and fit-out projects.

Key duties include take-offs, reviewing drawings and specifications, pricing labour, materials and subcontract packages, obtaining quotations and identifying risks.

Qualifications

• Experience as a Mechanical Estimator in MEP/building services
• Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings and specifications
• Strong commercial awareness and attention to detail

Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed mechanical estimates and tenders
• Review drawings, specifications and tender documentation
• Produce accurate take-offs and bills of quantities
• Obtain and analyse subcontractor and supplier quotations
• Price labour, materials, plant and subcontract packages
• Identify project risks, exclusions and opportunities
• Liaise with clients, consultants, suppliers and subcontractors
• Support the pre-construction team through the tender process
• Assist handover to delivery team after tenders

Mechanical Estimator Design & Build MEP Contractor

We are working with a well-established Design & Build MEP contractor who are looking to bring an experienced Mechanical Estimator into their team.

The company delivers a range of high-quality commercial, residential and fit-out projects, and this is a great opportunity for an Estimator looking to join a growing business with a strong project pipeline.

The Role

As Mechanical Estimator, you will be responsible for producing accurate and competitive estimates from initial enquiry through to tender submission, working closely with the pre-construction and commercial teams.

Key responsibilities include:

• Preparing detailed mechanical estimates and tenders
• Reviewing drawings, specifications and tender documentation
• Producing accurate take-offs and bills of quantities
• Obtaining and analysing subcontractor and supplier quotations
• Pricing labour, materials, plant and subcontract packages
• Identifying project risks, exclusions and opportunities
• Liaising with clients, consultants, suppliers and subcontractors
• Supporting the pre-construction team through the tender process
• Assisting with handover to the delivery team following successful tenders

About You

We are looking for someone with a strong background in mechanical estimating within the MEP / building services sector.

You will ideally have:

• Previous experience as a Mechanical Estimator
• Experience working for an MEP / Mechanical Design & Build contractor
• Strong knowledge of mechanical building services
• Experience pricing commercial, residential, fit-out or similar projects
• Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings and specifications
• Strong understanding of costs, labour, materials and subcontract packages
• Excellent attention to detail and commercial awareness
