Job summary

Certain Advantage is hiring for Mechanical Engineers in the Southwest. This permanent, hybrid-based role leads a small, experienced team and drives mechanical engineering support, maintenance reviews and design modifications.

You will maintain drawings and documentation while supporting installation, commissioning and testing activities. The role requires a foundation in mechanical engineering and experience in regulated environments, with opportunities for development, salary up to £50,000 per

Qualifications

• Foundation degree in Mechanical Engineering required or equivalent.
• Relevant mechanical engineering experience in a highly regulated industry.
• Strong knowledge of mechanical systems and maintenance practices.
• Experience producing hand calculations and substantiating designs.

Responsibilities

• Provide mechanical engineering support across projects.
• Conduct periodic reviews of maintenance regimes and activities.
• Scope, design, and propose modifications to existing assets or new facilities.
• Maintain configuration of technical drawings and documentation.
• Support installation, commissioning and testing activities.

The Role

This role is for a Mechanical Engineer—someone ambitious and ready to make an impact. You’ll be results‑oriented and driven to succeed.

You’ll be leading a small, experienced, and collaborative team, and be responsible for:

• Mechanical engineering support
• Periodic reviews of maintenance regimes and activities
• Scope, design, and propose modifications to existing assets or new facilities
• Maintaining the configuration of technical drawings and documentation
• Support the planning and execution of installation, commissioning and testing

The Individual

We’re looking for people who can show:

• Foundation degree in Mechanical Engineering
• Relevant mechanical engineering experience in a highly regulated industry
• Knowledge and awareness of mechanical systems
• Proficiency in the production of hand calculations and mechanical maintenance
• Experience in the design process and producing evidence of the design and substantiation of systems and components
