Job summary

Certain Advantage is looking for Mechanical Handling Engineers in the Southwest. This permanent role is hybrid-based and involves supporting mechanical handling assets and facilities on site.

You will work with cross-functional teams, provide technical support on both non-nuclear and nuclear assets, and contribute to key delivery projects. Ideal candidates hold a Mechanical Engineering degree with experience in regulated industries, crane systems, and the ability to produce engineering drawings

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a closely related discipline.
  • Relevant mechanical engineering experience in a highly regulated industry.
  • Knowledge and awareness of cranes, crane safety and associated mechanical handling systems.
  • Proficiency in the production of electrical/mechanical engineering drawings.
  • Proficiency in the production of hand calculations/FEA.
  • Experience in the design process and producing evidence of the design and substantiation of systems and components.

Responsibilities

  • Working collaboratively with the Customer within the Mechanical Handling and Building Services teams to provide technical support on non-nuclear and nuclear mechanical handling assets and facilities within the site.
  • Supporting the Mechanical Engineering lead in key delivery projects.
  • Providing technical support to the ongoing operations and maintenance of DRDL's extant mechanical handling assets.

The Individual
