Job summary

Certain Advantage Ltd. is seeking Mechanical Handling Engineers in the Southwest for a permanent, hybrid-based role. You will lead a small, experienced team and drive outcomes across mechanical handling assets at the site.

The position requires a strong engineering background and a readiness to contribute to both project delivery and operations support. Ideal candidates hold a Mechanical Engineering degree and have experience in highly regulated industries, cranes, and design substantiation.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
  • Experience in a highly regulated industry.
  • Knowledge of cranes and crane safety.
  • Proficiency in producing electrical/mechanical engineering drawings.
  • Proficiency in hand calculations/FEA.
  • Experience in design processes and substantiation of systems and components.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with the Customer within Mechanical Handling and Building Services teams to provide technical support on mechanical handling assets and facilities at the site.
  • Support the Mechanical Engineering lead in key delivery projects.
  • Provide technical support for ongoing operations and maintenance of extant mechanical handling assets.

Mechanical Handling Engineers

Certain Advantage is hiring for Mechanical Handling Engineers based in the Southwest area. This role is on a permanent basis and is hybrid-based.

Role

This role is for a Mechanical Engineer—someone ambitious and ready to make an impact. You’ll be results‑oriented and driven to succeed. You’ll lead a small, experienced, and collaborative team and be responsible for the following tasks:

  • Working collaboratively with the Customer within the Mechanical Handling and Building Services teams to provide technical support on non‑nuclear and nuclear mechanical handling assets and facilities within the site.
  • Supporting the Mechanical Engineering lead in key delivery projects.
  • Providing technical support for the ongoing operations and maintenance of DRDL’s extant mechanical handling assets.
Qualifications

We’re looking for people who can show:

  • Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in Mechanical Engineering or a closely related discipline.
  • Relevant mechanical engineering experience in a highly regulated industry.
  • Knowledge and awareness of cranes, crane safety and associated mechanical handling systems.
  • Proficiency in the production of electrical/mechanical engineering drawings.
  • Proficiency in the production of hand calculations/FEA.
  • Experience in the design process and producing evidence of the design and substantiation of systems and components.
