Job summary

Aspion Search is partnering with a growing machinery manufacturer in the UK to recruit a Mechanical Design Engineer. You will design full machinery using SolidWorks and take projects from concept through to build for domestic and international clients.

The role requires a Mechanical Engineering qualification and at least 3 years of experience, with proficiency in SolidWorks and AutoCAD, plus knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics and electrical interfaces.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience as a Mechanical Design Engineer.
• Strong background in designing full machinery and assemblies.
• Good understanding of hydraulics, pneumatics and electrical interfaces.

Responsibilities

• Research and concept development through to detailed design.
• Adapt existing designs into new machine formats.
• Modify and improve existing equipment and machinery.
• Support the build and development of prototypes; design fabricated components in mild steel.
• Produce detailed drawings and documentation for manufacture.

This is an excellent opportunity for a Mechanical Design Engineer to join a machinery manufacturer delivering large projects across the UK and internationally.

This is an exciting, innovative role within a business that is entering a significant growth phase. You will be joining a forward thinking engineering team and working in a hands-on Mechanical Design Engineer position, designing full machinery using SolidWorks and taking projects from concept through to build.

The Mechanical Design Engineer must have experience designing full machinery with SolidWorks.

Responsibilities of the Mechanical Design Engineer:

• Research and concept development through to detailed design

• Working with hydraulics, pneumatics, and electrical components

Requirements of the Mechanical Design Engineer:

• HNC, HND or Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering discipline
• A minimum of 3 years’ experience as a Mechanical Design Engineer
• Proficient in SolidWorks and AutoCAD
• Experience managing designs through the full project lifecycle, from concept through to manufacture and installation
• Good understanding of hydraulics and pneumatics
• Knowledge of electrical components and interfaces
