Job summary

Orion Electrotech is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer to translate customer requirements into precise engineering data, and to produce assembly and parts drawings. You will also support sales with installation layouts and respond to technical queries.

You will source and advise on special purchase parts for bespoke orders, and collaborate with internal teams and customers to ensure project success via hands-on design of rotary equipment and sheet metal assemblies.

Qualifications

• Recognised mechanical engineering qualification (vocational or academic).
• Proficiency in 2D and 3D CAD (preferably AutoCAD and Inventor).
• Understanding of manufacturing processes, especially welded metal fabrications, polishing and custom industrial equipment assembly.
• Experience in designing rotary equipment and designing with sheet metal.

Role

As the Mechanical Design Engineer, you will convert customer requirements into accurate engineering data, including assembly and parts drawings. You will also provide technical support to sales—providing installation layouts, responding to technical queries, sourcing and advising on special purchase parts for bespoke orders, and collaborating with internal teams and customers to ensure project success.
