Job summary

Mott MacDonald Bentley is offering a 12-month placement across design and construction teams within the Severn Trent Water framework, requiring travel around the region. The role starts in Summer 2027 and provides broad exposure to live projects that matter to communities.

You will collaborate with experienced mechanical engineers on-site and in the office, tackling water and wastewater projects from design to installation while developing skills in mechanical design, system analysis and project

Qualifications

  • Be studying a full-time undergraduate degree in Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
  • A proactive attitude and eagerness to learn.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with team members and stakeholders.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with experienced mechanical engineers both on-site and in the office, gaining practical experience in mechanical systems and project implementation.
  • Engage in a variety of water and waste water projects, from design and planning to installation and maintenance, ensuring systems operate efficiently and effectively.
  • Enhance your skills in mechanical design, system analysis, and problem-solving, preparing you for a successful career in mechanical engineering.
  • Adhere to health and safety guidelines and promote a safe working environment on all projects.
