Job summary

AtkinsRéalis is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to provide design and engineering support for nuclear decommissioning projects in the Whitehaven area and beyond. The role involves creating 2D drawings and 3D models, performing hand calculations and finite element analyses, and contributing to technical documentation.

You will work with a cross-disciplinary team across design, safety, and operations, with some site presence in West Cumbria as needed.

Qualifications

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline.
• Chartership with the relevant institution or working towards Chartership.
• Experience in 3D Computer Aided Design.
• Knowledge of safety and regulatory documentation (risk assessments, CDM, UKCA).

Responsibilities

• Deliver engineering design solutions throughout the full design lifecycle (study to detail).
• Lead teams of engineers and technicians on project tasks and perform design checks.
