Job summary

AtkinsRéalis in the UK is seeking Senior and Principal Mechanical Design Engineers to lead design activities on nuclear-focused programmes. You will mentor teams, shape design approaches from concept to detailed design, and collaborate with clients to deliver safe, efficient mechanical solutions.

You will apply Autodesk Inventor and Siemens NX, work within multidisciplinary teams, and support bids, schedules and regulatory compliance to ensure high-quality outcomes.

Qualifications

• Experience in mechanical design for highly regulated environments.
• Ability to lead design activities and mentor engineers.
• Proven collaboration across multidisciplinary teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor engineering teams on complex nuclear-focused projects.
• Develop mechanical equipment designs meeting safety, quality and efficiency standards.
• Deliver end-to-end design across concept to detail and implementation.
• Apply 3D CAD tools to create practical, innovative solutions.
• Guide manufacturing, assembly and installation approaches with regulatory compliance.
• Support proposals, budgets and project schedules with technical input.
• Coach junior engineers and promote knowledge sharing.
