Job summary

AtkinsRéalis is seeking a Senior/Principal Mechanical Engineer to lead delivery of complex mechanical and multi-disciplinary projects from our Derby office. You will work with engineers, delivery teams, and clients to ensure projects meet safety, quality, and schedule requirements across UK nuclear-related programmes.

You will mentor teams, maintain stakeholder relationships, and drive design substantiation from feasibility through detailed design to construction, ensuring right-first-time

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent.
• Strong technical leadership experience across complex mechanical projects.
• Experience in delivering design and substantiation for safety-critical systems.

Responsibilities

• Lead delivery of complex mechanical and multi-disciplinary projects.
• Mentor and guide junior engineers and deliver on schedules and budgets.
• Interface with clients and stakeholders to define requirements and manage expectations.
