Job summary

AtkinsRéalis is seeking a Senior/Principal Mechanical Engineer to lead a range of nuclear civil and defence projects in the UK. The role involves steering multi-disciplinary teams, delivering design and substantiation, and collaborating with clients and internal teams to meet safety and quality standards.

You will operate within a fast-paced environment, supporting fleet operations, power build initiatives and decommissioning programmes while maintaining a focus on delivery, cost and schedule

Qualifications

Experience leading complex mechanical engineering projects in nuclear defence.
Ability to deliver design and substantiation across lifecycle from bids to construction.
Strong collaboration with delivery teams, clients and stakeholders.

Responsibilities

Lead delivery of complex mechanical engineering and multi-disciplinary projects.
Manage timescales, budgets and schedules; guide junior engineers.
Liaise with and influence stakeholders at all levels; build relationships.
Deliver design and substantiation for mechanical equipment to safety, quality and cost targets.
Collaborate with client teams and AtkinsRéalis design groups across programmes.
