Job summary

Cavendish Nuclear in Hessle or Grimsby is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to join our growing Humber region team. This full‑time, permanent role offers hybrid working with three days on site at Hessle or Grimsby and broad exposure to clean energy, nuclear decommissioning and defence programmes.

You will deliver mechanical engineering solutions, produce calculations and drawings, collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, and ensure safety and regulatory compliance while developing your engineering

Qualifications

• Experience delivering mechanical engineering solutions on complex projects.
• Ability to work effectively with multidisciplinary teams and key stakeholders.
• Knowledge of mechanical design principles, engineering calculations and technical documentation.
• Experience working within highly regulated or high-hazard industries.
• Strong communication, problem-solving and mentoring skills.

Responsibilities

• Delivering mechanical engineering solutions for complex engineering programmes.
• Producing and maintaining technical calculations, drawings and engineering documentation.
• Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams, customers and suppliers to achieve successful project outcomes.
• Ensuring designs comply with relevant safety, quality and regulatory requirements.
• Supporting technical problem-solving activities and mentoring less experienced engineers where appropriate.
