Job summary

Cavendish Nuclear is hiring a Principal Mechanical Engineer to lead mechanical engineering activities across major programmes in a hybrid Hessle/Grimsby environment. You will shape engineering strategy, influence outcomes and ensure safe, high-quality delivery on UK nuclear and defence projects.

The role requires delivering technical leadership, co-ordination across multidisciplinary teams and ensuring compliance with safety and regulatory standards while developing engineering capability within

Qualifications

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
• Proven experience leading mechanical engineering activities on complex projects.
• Experience coordinating multidisciplinary teams and managing engineering interfaces.
• Experience working in highly regulated or safety-critical environments.
• Knowledge of mechanical design, risk assessment methodologies and technical leadership.

Responsibilities

• Leading the development of mechanical engineering solutions for complex and high-profile projects.
• Managing project scope, priorities and delivery plans to meet customer requirements.
• Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams, suppliers and stakeholders to resolve technical challenges.
