Job summary

Cavendish Nuclear is hiring a Mechanical Engineer for Hessle or Grimsby with hybrid working arrangements. You'll contribute to national programmes across clean energy, nuclear decommissioning and defence, developing innovative mechanical solutions and ensuring safety and regulatory compliance.

In this full-time role, you'll deliver calculations, drawings and documentation, collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, mentor junior engineers, and help grow our capability within the Humber region.

Qualifications

• Experience delivering mechanical engineering solutions on complex projects.
• Ability to work effectively with multidisciplinary teams and key stakeholders.
• Knowledge of mechanical design principles, engineering calculations and technical documentation.
• Experience working within highly regulated or high-hazard industries.
• Strong communication, problem-solving and mentoring skills.

Responsibilities

• Delivering mechanical engineering solutions for complex engineering programmes.
• Producing and maintaining technical calculations, drawings and engineering documentation.
• Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams, customers and suppliers to achieve successful project outcomes.
• Ensuring designs comply with relevant safety, quality and regulatory requirements.
• Supporting technical problem-solving activities and mentoring less experienced engineers where appropriate.
