Job summary

Cavendish Nuclear, part of Babcock International Group, is expanding in the Humber region and recruiting a Mechanical Engineer for Hessle or Grimsby with hybrid working. You will deliver mechanical engineering solutions on complex programmes across clean energy, nuclear decommissioning and defence, developing calculations, drawings and documentation while mentoring others.

Qualifications

• Experience delivering mechanical engineering solutions on complex projects.
• Ability to work effectively with multidisciplinary teams and key stakeholders.
• Knowledge of mechanical design principles, engineering calculations and technical documentation.
• Experience working within highly regulated or high-hazard industries.
• Strong communication, problem-solving and mentoring skills.

Responsibilities

• Delivering mechanical engineering solutions for complex engineering programmes.
• Producing and maintaining technical calculations, drawings and documentation.
• Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams, customers and suppliers to achieve successful project outcomes.
• Ensuring designs comply with relevant safety, quality and regulatory requirements.
• Supporting technical problem-solving activities and mentoring less experienced engineers where appropriate.
