Carbon 60, Inc. is seeking an experienced Mechanical Design Engineer in Stevenage to contribute to the development of cutting-edge missile and defence systems.

The role involves producing 3D CAD models and detailed drawings, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure manufacturability and performance. The position offers hybrid working (typically 3 days onsite per week) and starts ASAP for a 6-month contract.

Formación

• Mechanical Engineering background is required.
• Experience creating 3D CAD models and detailed drawings.
• Familiarity with engineering drawings and tolerances.
• Strong understanding of mechanical design principles and development processes.

Mechanical Design Engineer

We are currently recruiting for an experienced Mechanical Design Engineer to join, one of Europe's leading defence organisations, supporting the development of cutting-edge missile and defence systems.

This is an excellent opportunity to work as part of a highly skilled engineering team, contributing to complex mechanical design projects from concept through to manufacture. You'll be involved in developing innovative engineering solutions and supporting programmes that play a critical role in national defence.

Key Details

• Job Title: Mechanical Design Engineer
• Location: Stevenage
• Contract Length: Initial 6 Months
• Rate: Up to £50 per hour Umbrella
• Hybrid Working: Typically 3 days onsite per week
• Start Date: ASAP

Responsibilities

• Produce detailed 3D CAD models and engineering drawings using Creo.
• Support the design and development of mechanical systems and components.
• Work closely with manufacturing, systems and project engineering teams.
• Participate in design reviews and provide technical input throughout the design lifecycle.
• Create and maintain engineering documentation and technical data packages.Ensure designs meet performance, quality and manufacturing requirements.

Essential Skills & Experience

• Mechanical Engineering or Mechanical Design Engineering background.
• Strong experience using Creo / PTC Creo.
• Experience producing 3D models, assemblies and detailed engineering drawings.
• Understanding of mechanical design principles and product development processes.
