Job summary

Kier Group plc is seeking a Senior Mechanical Design Manager to join the KME team on a major healthcare project in Huntingdon. You will lead design delivery, manage budgets and coordinate with engineers, clients and stakeholders to meet project aims.

The role requires strong leadership of MEP services, a proactive problem-solving mindset and excellent communication skills to drive safe and compliant solutions through tender, design and handover phases.

Qualifications

• You have demonstrable experience as an MEP design manager for a main contractor or Tier 1 MEP contractor.
• Strong technical understanding of MEPH services, systems and package interfaces.
• Proactive problem solving with excellent organisational and planning skills.
• Strong interpersonal and presentation skills with the ability to communicate effectively at all levels.

Responsibilities

• Managing design and working drawing activities within agreed budgets and programmes
• Leading design safety reviews and ensuring CDM requirements are incorporated
• Overseeing internal and external design teams, ensuring quality, compliance and appropriate design solutions

We're looking for a Senior Mechanical Design Manager to join our KME team on a major project in the Healthcare sector., Location: Huntingdon, Cambridgeshire.Hours: Full Time, Permanent. Flexible working arrangements available., KME are an internal MEP self-delivery business within the Kier group, supporting Kier construction across the UK on complex and challenging projects. As a Senior Mechanical Design Manager, you'll play a key role in managing design solutions that meet and exceed customer requirements while minimising risk and maximising value. This is an opportunity to work collaboratively with project teams, bringing your expertise to deliver successful outcomes on medium to large complex schemes.

What will you be responsible for?
