Job summary

Orion Electrotech Ltd. is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer to design fabricated, sheet metal, and steel products from concept to manufacture. You will take ownership of designs through the full project lifecycle, ensuring manufacturability and practical engineering solutions.

The role requires 4+ years of experience and strong Autodesk Inventor 3D CAD skills, with emphasis on detailed drawings, GD&T, and collaboration with production teams on site.

Qualifications

• Minimum 4 years' experience in a Mechanical Design Engineer role.
• Strong proficiency with Autodesk Inventor 3D CAD software.
• Experience designing fabricated steel, sheet metal and structural steel products.
• Ability to create detailed manufacturing drawings and apply GD&T principles.
• Excellent communication to collaborate with production and shop floor teams.
• Good problem-solving and practical engineering mindset.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop fabricated, sheet metal, and steel products for manufacture.
• Produce detailed manufacturing drawings, assemblies, and BOMs.
• Manage projects from concept through to completion and production release.
• Liaise with shop floor and manufacturing teams to ensure manufacturability.
• Resolve design and manufacturing challenges through practical engineering solutions.
• Ensure designs meet quality, safety, and customer requirements.
• Assist with prototyping, testing, and continuous product improvement activities.
• Support project documentation and engineering change processes.
