Meridian Business Support is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer to join the on-site design team. You will adapt existing designs across a broad product range manufactured on site and work with the R&D team to propose process improvements.

The role focuses on design updates from concept to manufacture, ensuring products meet cost, quality and functional requirements. Collaborative work with Production, Quality, Purchasing and Marketing is essential.

Qualificações

• Minimum 5 years' experience in sheet metal or manufacturing as a Design Engineer.
• Degree or HND in Mechanical Design or related engineering discipline.
• Strong understanding of sheet metal manufacturing processes, materials and tolerances.
• Experience with 3D CAD and 2D drawings (SolidEdge preferred).

Responsabilidades

• Product design and development – design updates of existing products from concept through manufacture.
• Design for manufacture – ensure designs are cost-effective and easy to assemble.
• Cross-functional collaboration with NPD, Production Engineering, Quality, Purchasing and Marketing.
• Project support for R&D initiatives, meeting deadlines and reporting progress.
• Design risk management – identify and mitigate risks throughout updates.
• Engineering standards – ensure compliance with standards, legislation, and procedures.
• Continuous improvement – provide design support for manufacturing for cost reduction.
