Job summary

Orion Electrotech is recruiting a Project Mechanical Design Engineer to join our growing engineering business delivering bespoke industrial systems and turnkey projects. This is a varied, hands-on role offering involvement throughout the full project lifecycle, from initial customer engagement and site surveys through to design, manufacture, and installation.

Qualifications

Experience in mechanical design from concept to completion.
Proficient in 2D AutoCAD; 3D Inventor preferred.
Practical understanding of fabrication and sheet metal processes.

Responsibilities

Producing engineering designs and layouts using 2D AutoCAD and 3D Inventor.
Conducting site visits, surveys, and customer consultations to gather project requirements.
Developing practical engineering solutions tailored to customer needs.
Preparing RAMS to support installation activities.
Liaising with manufacturing and fabrication teams to ensure designs are fit for production.
Monitoring project progress and supporting successful delivery from concept through to installation.
Utilising ERP and project management systems to plan, track, and manage project activities.
Providing technical support to internal teams and customers throughout the project lifecycle.
