Job summary

Orion Electrotech Ltd in Cambridge is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to lead projects from concept through to delivery. You will design bespoke systems, collaborate with customers and suppliers, and manage scope, risk and profitability.

The role requires a Mechanical Engineering degree, experience in manufacturing environments, and strong CAD (Autodesk Inventor) skills, plus excellent communication and stakeholder management. UK and international travel may be involved.

Qualifications

• Degree qualification in Mechanical engineering.
• Experience in manufacturing or engineering environments.
• Experience with fabricated pipework systems and fluid transfer.
• Experience delivering engineering projects to customers.
• Knowledge of CE Marking, ATEX and PED requirements.
• Proficiency with Autodesk Inventor 3D CAD software.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Proactive and commercially aware mindset.

Responsibilities

• Lead engineering projects from specification to manufacture, testing and delivery.
• Manage customer requirements, technical specs and project docs.
• Produce and manage drawings using Autodesk Inventor.
• Source components, manage suppliers and maintain project profitability.
• Develop inspection, testing and commissioning procedures.
• Mentor and manage a junior engineer; visit sites in the UK and internationally.
