Job summary

We are seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer to join a smart manufacturing business in Oxfordshire. You will design from retrofit camera assemblies to large-scale automation machinery using SolidWorks.

This full-time, on-site role requires collaboration with the Design Lead and Applications Engineering to deliver projects on time. Ideal candidates have 3+ years in industrial automation, strong CAD skills (SolidWorks), and a degree in Mechanical Engineering.

Qualifications

• 3+ years designing industrial automation or special-purpose machinery.

Responsibilities

• 3D Design: Create mechanical models, detailed drawings, and schematics in SolidWorks under the Design Lead.
• Pneumatics: Produce full pneumatic system concepts, component specifications, and schematics.
• Visualisation: Produce 3D renders of concepts and machines for sales/marketing.
• System Integration: Specify automation components and design to international engineering standards.
• Hands-on Delivery: Collaborate with Applications Engineering to deliver projects on time, assisting with hands‑on system builds as required.
