Job summary

Automation Experts Ltd is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer in Oxfordshire to design bespoke mechanical solutions for machine vision and automation systems using SolidWorks. The role requires a degree in Mechanical Engineering and 3+ years in industrial automation, with a focus on pneumatic designs and detailed drawings.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years' Mechanical Design experience within Industrial Automation or Special Purpose Machinery.
• Strong SolidWorks 3D CAD experience.
• Degree qualified in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
• Experience designing pneumatic systems and mechanical assemblies.
• Excellent problem-solving skills with strong attention to detail.
• Able to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
• Excellent communication skills and a collaborative approach.

Responsibilities

• Design bespoke mechanical solutions for machine vision and industrial automation systems using SolidWorks.
• Develop mechanical concepts, detailed drawings and manufacturing documentation.
• Produce pneumatic system designs, schematics and component layouts.
• Specify mechanical components for bespoke automation and inspection equipment.
• Create machine renders and concept visuals to support customer presentations and sales activities.
• Work closely with Design and Applications Engineering teams to deliver projects on time.
• Support the development of innovative machine vision and automation technologies.
• Assist with hands-on mechanical build and development of bespoke systems where required.
