Job summary

Planet Recruitment is recruiting a Mechanical Design Engineer for a Witney-based engineering manufacturer. You will drive the full product development lifecycle from concept to production, focusing on precision engineered components and assemblies.

The role requires a minimum of 3 years' SolidWorks experience, strong 3D CAD modelling skills, and collaboration with CNCMachine, manufacturing and engineering teams to optimise designs for manufacture. Competitive salary and benefits on offer.

Qualifications

• 3+ years' experience in Mechanical Design Engineer role.
• Proficient in SolidWorks with 3D CAD modelling.
• Experience producing manufacturing drawings with GD&T.
• Good understanding of CNC machining processes and DFMs.

Responsibilities

• Produce detailed 3D mechanical designs using SolidWorks.
• Create assembly models and fully toleranced manufacturing drawings.
• Design components suitable for CNC machining and manufacture.
• Collaborate with machining and assembly teams to optimise designs for manufacture.
• Support new product development from concept through to production.
• Maintain accurate engineering documentation and CAD records.
• Assist with prototype development using 3D printing and 3D scanning.
• Create and maintain Bills of Materials (BOMs) in the MRP system.
