Job summary

Pickering Interfaces Ltd is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer in Clacton-on-Sea to design and develop mechanical and electromechanical products from concept through to production. You will run 3D CAD modelling, simulations, prototyping, testing, and documentation while ensuring milestones and quality standards are met.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or related field, or equivalent experience.
• Understanding of manufacturing processes, materials and standards.
• Proven track record of developing and delivering mechanical products and systems.
• Excellent communication, collaboration, and project management skills.
• Experience in design for manufacturability, tolerance analysis and cost optimisation.
• Strong 3D CAD modelling and simulation skills.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop innovative mechanical products and systems from concept to execution.
• 3D CAD modelling and simulation of mechanical and electromechanical systems.
• Oversee development to meet requirements and timelines; test and troubleshoot designs.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams and project managers.
• Develop and maintain technical documentation and drawings.
• Mentor and train junior design engineers on technical and design aspects.
