Job summary

Pickering Interfaces Ltd in Clacton-on-Sea is seeking a Hardware Design Engineer to lead the design and validation of digital and analogue hardware for high‑performance switching and simulation products.

You will create schematics and PCB layouts in Altium, select components, run tests, and work with mechanical and software teams to ensure reliable hardware across the product lifecycle.

Qualifications

• Experience in schematic capture and multi-layer PCB layout, including high-speed or power-sensitive designs.
• Hands-on with lab equipment (oscilloscopes, multimeters, spectrum analyzers).
• Understanding of power supplies, signal integrity and noise mitigation.
• Experience in multi-disciplinary teams with cross-functional collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Lead in the design and development of digital and analogue hardware products.
• Create detailed schematics and PCB layouts using Altium Designer.
• Perform component selection and analysis for optimal performance.
• Develop and execute test plans for prototypes and final products.
• Conduct hardware debugging and validation with standard test equipment.
• Collaborate with mechanical and software teams for HW/SW integration.
