Job summary

Latitude Recruitment is seeking a Design Engineer near Fareham to join a growing engineering team. You will translate customer requirements into practical electromechanical solutions, from concept through to design, and support design changes across projects.

Utilise CAD tools such as SolidWorks or Autodesk Inventor to create 3D models and drawings, manage BoM data, and collaborate with design, production, quality and supply chain to deliver robust products.

Qualifications

• Electromechanical design experience.
• Proficiency with CAD tools (SolidWorks or Inventor).
• Ability to interpret electrical diagrams and wiring drawings.
• Experience in BoM and parts specification management.

Responsibilities

• Undertake mechanical design of electromechanical products.
• Produce 3D CAD models, technical drawings, and related documentation.
• Support component selection and supplier interaction.
• Manage and implement design changes across projects.
• Evaluate solutions and iterate designs based on feedback.

Our engineering clients based close to Fareham have an exciting opportunity for a Design Engineer to join their growing team

The Design Engineer will be responsible for supporting projects from initial concept through to design, translating customer requirements into practical engineering solutions

Role and Responsibilities:

• Undertake mechanical design of electromechanical products.
• Produce 3D CAD Models, technical drawings and more.
• Support component selection.
• Manage and implement design changes.
• Evaluate solutions

Ideal Skills :

• Electromechanical skills
• CAD, SolidWorks (or Autodesk Inventor)
• Electrical and Wiring Schematics / Diagrams / Drawings
• BoM and Parts Specification management
• Strong verbal communication skills to work effectively with multiple stakeholders, including design, production, quality, and supply chain.
• Self-motivated, proactive, and able to manage multiple priorities.
• Proficient in common computer applications, including MS Office.

Working hours: 37.5 hours – Monday – Friday

Salary: Dependant on experience
