Job summary

Vantage Consulting is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer on a contract basis in Kettering. The role involves site surveys, mechanical design and 3D CAD to support factory layouts, pipework, and machinery projects.

Key responsibilities include surveying pipework runs, designing machine guarding, producing 3D models and 2D plans, and preparing technical documentation. Independent work on site surveys is expected.

Qualifications

• Experience in mechanical design engineering.
• Strong 3D CAD experience.
• Experience with pipework, machine guarding, factory layouts or skids.
• Good understanding of engineering standards and technical documentation.
• Able to work independently on site surveys and design projects.

Responsibilities

• Survey existing and new pipework runs and produce relevant documentation.
• Survey and design machine guarding, ensuring designs are practical and compliant with relevant engineering standards.
• Produce 3D models for new factory layouts and skids.
• Produce 2D plan drawings of factory layouts.
• Prepare supporting technical documentation.
• Work closely with engineering and manufacturing teams to deliver practical design solutions.

Mechanical Design Engineer - Contract

Location: Kettering Rate: 30- 40 per hour Contract: Initial contract position

We are currently looking for a Mechanical Design Engineer to join a manufacturing/engineering environment in Kettering on a contract basis.

The role will involve a mixture of site surveying, mechanical design and 3D CAD, supporting factory layouts, pipework and machinery projects.
