Job summary

Ganymede is recruiting a Mechanical Design Engineer on a six-month contract for roles across Middlesbrough, Darlington, Hartlepool and Sunderland, focusing on 3D modelling in SolidWorks to design enclosure modifications and manifolds.

You'll maintain and issue manufacturing drawings, apply tolerances, and participate in weekly cross-functional meetings with project managers and technical leads; prior degree or strong experience welcomed.

Qualifications

• 3D modelling in SolidWorks - enclosing modifications, bespoke brackets, manifolds and layouts.
• Experience producing detailed manufacturing drawings.
• Ability to define and apply tolerances across components.
• Background in mechanical design or draughting; degree preferred but strong experience accepted.

Responsibilities

• Finalising and issuing manufacturing drawings to the required standard

I am currently recruiting on behalf of a key client-based Teesside who are globally recognised engineering and manufacturing business operating across several high-profile industries including defence, marine & offshore. Due to a new project win, they are looking for experienced Mechanical Design Engineers & Draughtsman to join their team on an interim basis for an initial 3–6-month contract.

Responsibilities

• 3D modelling in SolidWorks - designing enclosure modifications, bespoke brackets, manifolds and internal component layouts
• Supporting, updating and maintaining existing 3D models and engineering drawings
• Finalising and issuing manufacturing drawings to the required standard
• Defining and applying appropriate tolerances across all designed components
• Attending weekly cross-functional project meetings with project managers and technical leads
• Daily catchups with the mechanical team lead to review workload and progress

Attributes

• Solid, hands-on SolidWorks experience used in a real working environment
• Familiarity with assemblies and a mix of commercial off-the-shelf and bespoke parts
• Experience producing detailed manufacturing drawings
• Background in mechanical design or draughting - degree qualified ideally, though strong experience will be considered
• PDM experience desirable but not essential - full training provided
