Job summary

Vantage Consulting Limited is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer on a contract basis in Kettering. The role covers site surveys, mechanical design and 3D CAD work to support factory layouts, pipework and machinery projects.

The ideal candidate will have strong 3D CAD skills, experience with pipework and machine guarding, and the ability to work independently on site surveys and design projects. This is a contract position in the Kettering area.

Qualifications

• Experience in mechanical design engineering.
• Solid 3D CAD experience.
• Experience with pipework, guarding and factory layouts would be advantageous.
• Good understanding of standards and documentation.
• Ability to work independently on site surveys and design projects.

Responsibilities

• Survey existing and new pipework runs and produce documentation.
• Design machine guarding ensuring practical and compliant solutions.
• Produce 3D models for factory layouts and skids.
• Create 2D plan drawings of factory layouts.
• Prepare supporting technical documentation.
• Collaborate with engineering and manufacturing teams to deliver designs.
