Job summary

E-ppl Ltd is seeking a Mechanic on a six-month outside IR35 contract in Donnington, Shropshire. You will perform mechanical inspections, servicing and repairs on fleet platforms, with on-site tools supplied and a clear pathway to extension.

The role offers a total hourly rate of £22.00, weekly pay, and an early Friday finish. BPSS clearance is sponsored by E-ppl, and travel is local to Shropshire and surrounding areas.

Qualifications

• Proven background as a Mechanic in Fleet, Commercial or ex-Forces vehicles.
• NVQ/IMI/City & Guilds Level 2 or 3 in Light Vehicle Maintenance & Repair required.
• BPSS clearance eligible and sponsored by employer.

Responsibilities

• Inspect, service, and repair across designated fleet platforms.
• Complete rectification work ahead of Mandatory Equipment Inspections.
• Execute fleet upgrades, reworks and resolve defects from quality checks.
• Maintain strict adherence to site Health & Safety guidelines.

Location: Donnington, Telford, Shropshire TF2 8JT

Pay: £17.00/hr Base Rate + £5.00/hr Living Allowance (£22.00/hr Total) | Paid Weekly

Contract: 6-Month Contract (High Potential for Extension)

IR35 Status: Outside IR35

Shift: Mon–Thu 07:30–16:30 | Fri 07:30–13:00 (Early Friday Finish!)

About the Role

Join E-ppl Ltd as a Mechanic on a critical fleet maintenance project in Donnington, working alongside a skilled, supportive team. You will play a pivotal role in ensuring the operational readiness, safety, and regulatory compliance of Stored and Sustainment Fleet platforms.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform mechanical inspections, routine servicing, and repairs across designated fleet platforms.
• Complete rectification work ahead of Mandatory Equipment Inspections.
• Execute fleet upgrades, reworks, and resolve defects identified during quality examinations.
• Maintain strict adherence to site Health & Safety guidelines.

Location & Commute

Situated conveniently in Donnington (Telford) with quick access via the M54, A442, and A5.

• Local Commuters: Easily accessible from Telford, Shrewsbury, Wolverhampton, Cannock, Stafford, and the wider Shropshire/West Midlands area.

To be considered for this role, candidates must provide proof of the following:

• Qualifications: Valid proof of NVQ, IMI, City & Guilds (or equivalent) Level 2 or Level 3 in Light Vehicle Maintenance & Repair.
• Experience: Proven background as a Mechanic (Fleet, Commercial, or Ex-Forces/Military vehicle background strongly preferred).
• Clearance: Must be eligible for BPSS Security Clearance (fully sponsored, managed, and paid for by E-ppl).
