RECRUIT123 LIMITED in Birmingham is seeking an experienced Mechanic to join a friendly, family-run garage with a small, close-knit team. The role offers a relaxed environment, practical training for MOT testing, and a competitive hourly rate.

You should have at least 3 years' experience, be flexible, hold a UK driving licence, and be able to work on your own initiative or as part of a team. Training and benefits are provided.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Maintenance of cars and vans including servicing, brakes, tyres, clutches and timing belts.
• Provide excellent customer service and work as part of a small team.
• Occasional out-of-hours work and potential MOT testing duties.

Job description

This is a great opportunity to join a friendly, family-run garage with a small, close-knit team. It's a relaxed working environment where everyone works hard, enjoys a good laugh and plenty of friendly banter – with a couple of dogs around the workplace too!

The owner is hands-on and supportive, and they're looking for someone reliable, flexible and with a good attitude who will fit well into the team.

You'll be working in a clean, heated and well-lit workshop. If you're an experienced Mechanic looking to become an MOT Tester, training can also be provided.

What we need from you as a Mechanic:

• Ideally you will have a minimum of 3 years' experience working as a Mechanic
• Experienced in servicing, brakes, tyres, clutches and timing belts etc
• Able to work on your own initiative or as part of a team
• Have your own basic tools
• Flexible attitude to work – able to work extra hours when needed
• Good sense of humour!
• Hold a current UK Driving Licence

Desirable:

• MOT testing licence
• Any relevant qualifications

What the role involves:

• Maintenance of cars and vans
• Servicing, brakes, tyres, clutches and timing belts etc
• Providing excellent standards of customer service
• Ensuring the workspace is kept clean and tidy#MOT Testing (if you have the licence)

Salary:

£13.50 - £19.00 per hour, depending on experience.

Hours:

Monday – Friday 7.30am & 5.30pm – flexible, with a paid lunch break. Some out of hours and weekend working (Saturday 9am – 1pm) may be required from time to time, depending on the needs of the business.
