Job summary

Kamro Limited T/A Tenex in Timperley, Greater Manchester, is seeking an experienced Vehicle Technician to join its busy workshop. You will service, maintain, diagnose and repair a range of vehicles, delivering high-quality workmanship.

The role requires at least 5 years of hands-on experience, a full UK driving licence and your own tools. An MOT Tester qualification is preferred but not essential. This is a permanent, full-time position with a pension and 28 days' holiday.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years' experience in vehicle servicing or automotive role.
• Full UK driving licence is essential.
• Must have own tools for vehicle work.

Responsibilities

• Carry out servicing and general vehicle maintenance.
• Diagnose mechanical and electrical faults.
• Complete repairs including brakes, suspension and exhausts.
• Use diagnostic equipment to identify faults.
• Prepare vehicles for MOT and conduct MOT tests when qualified.
• Maintain accurate records of work done.
• Keep tools and workshop clean and safe.

Working Hours

Monday to Friday: 8:00am 5:00pm
Lunch: 1-hour lunch break
Saturday: 8:00am 12:00pm on a 1-in-2 rota

About the Role

An established independent service station in Timperley is looking to recruit an experienced and reliable Vehicle Technician to join its busy workshop team.

This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled technician who is confident working independently and takes pride in delivering a consistently high standard of workmanship.

The successful candidate will be responsible for carrying out servicing, maintenance, diagnostics and mechanical repairs across a variety of vehicles. They will be joining an established independent business that values reliability, technical ability and quality workmanship.

Applicants must have a minimum of 5 years' experience, hold a full UK driving licence and have their own tools. An MOT Tester qualification would be preferred but is not essential.

Key Responsibilities

• Carrying out routine servicing and general vehicle maintenance
• Diagnosing mechanical and electrical faults
• Completing repairs including brakes, suspension, steering, exhausts and other mechanical components
• Using diagnostic equipment to accurately identify vehicle faults
• Conducting vehicle inspections and identifying additional work required
• Completing pre-MOT inspections and preparing vehicles for MOT testing
• Carrying out MOT tests where appropriately qualified
• Ensuring all servicing and repairs are completed safely and to a high standard
• Maintaining accurate records of work completed
• Ensuring tools, equipment and working areas are kept clean and organised
• Following all relevant health and safety procedures
• Working effectively both independently and as part of the wider workshop team

Skills & Experience Required

• A minimum of 5 years' experience as a Vehicle Technician, Mechanic or within a similar automotive role
• Strong mechanical servicing, maintenance and repair experience
• Good diagnostic and fault-finding abilities
• A full UK driving licence is essential
• Candidates must have their own tools
• Ability to work confidently across a range of makes and models
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship
• Reliable, organised and capable of managing workload effectively
• MOT Tester qualification is preferred but not essential
• Relevant automotive qualifications would be advantageous
