Job summary

The Me Time Programme Coordinator role at Mencap in the Nottingham area is a permanent contract for 37.5 hours per week. You will lead a team to design and deliver high‑quality Me Time support, guided by the voices of people with a learning disability and coproduction principles.

You will build local partnerships, monitor delivery, manage budgets, and report on KPIs to funders, while recruiting colleagues and volunteers to expand community opportunities.

Responsibilities

  • Lead a team of colleagues delivering Me Time support in the Nottingham area.
  • Plan and implement new Me Time initiatives to help adults with learning disabilities live independently.
  • Build connections with local community networks and map assets.
  • Ensure community participation and meaningful contribution by service users.
  • Report on delivery, outcomes, and budget performance; recruit staff and volunteers.
  • Lead on local delivery and manage budgets and resources.
  • Oversee safeguarding and risk management.
  • Collaborate with national Me Time programmes to share best practice.

We are recruiting for a Me Time Programme Coordinator, t his position is a permanent contract for 37.5 hours per week, covering the Nottingham area.

Me Time is Mencap’s social inclusion, leisure, and community-led programme, supporting adults with a learning disability to live life to the full, with high quality community inclusive support, grounded in Mencap’s values and enabled by a highly motivated and capable team.

As Programme Coordinator you will lead colleagues in designing and delivering good quality Me Time support, playing a key role in planning, monitoring and reviewing community opportunities, ensuring we are always listening to and being led by the evidence and lived experience of people with a learning disability.

Building a strengths-based approach to further develop skills and confidence of those being supported, expanding networks, and be fully included in their local community. People with a learning disability steer the activities and are represented at all levels with Me Time through coproduction opportunities.

Provide strong leadership, maintaining high expectations for delivering high-quality opportunities, with positive and effective partnerships with local partners, commissioners and purchasers of Me Time.

Me Time ensure that people with a learning disability can access local assets in the community and increase visibility and inclusion in local planning and developments.

The Me Time model is person centred and focused on improving quality of life for the people being supported, as well as providing pathways to other opportunities, for example volunteering and employment. You will lead on and work alongside community networks to maximise the opportunities for people we support and make the community the best place to live.

What will your day look like? The Me Time Programme Coordinator will

  • Demonstrate strong leadership to a team of passionate and highly motivated colleagues
  • Be responsible for planning and implementing new initiatives, aiming to assist people with a learning disability to live independent and fulfilling lives.
  • Make connections with local community networks, mapping local assets.
  • Ensure people can be part of and make important contributions to their local communities.
  • Reporting and development along with the recruitment of new colleagues.
  • Lead on all aspects of delivery in the local area.
  • Significant budget and resource management
  • Risk management, ensuring good practice in safeguarding and avoidance of harm. Good knowledge & awareness of safeguarding.

You will manage the local hubs in Nottingham and build community connections to form and thrive and build strong networks with local businesses and providers. You will be aspirational, flexible, and work with others to support people to progress in ways they want to.

You will monitor the delivery of the contracts and prepare quarterly reports and Key Performance Indicators for the Local Authority or Funders. You will work collaboratively with other Me Time programmes nationally to share best practice and drive quality and continuous improvement.
