Job summary

The Royal Mencap Society in Chipping Barnet is hiring a Skills Coach to join their Supported Internship team full-time. This role is vital in supporting learners with special educational needs to achieve the skills necessary for paid employment.

The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering tailored support, utilizing effective job coaching, and enhancing employability skills while also embedding English and Maths into the learning experience.

Compensation ranges from £31,319 to £33,824 based on qualifications and experience, alongside generous benefits.

  • Proven ability to deliver support and achieve targets.
  • Strong knowledge of safe working practices.

Responsibilities

Job description

Do you have experience of working with people with a learning disability? Are you passionate about working for anorganisationthat drives change? Then we may have the role for you within our Supported Internship team.

An exciting opportunity for a passionate and self-motivatedSkills Coach tojoin our Supported Internship programme teamin Barneton a full time (37.5hrs per week) basis.

As a Skills Coach, your roleis central to the delivery of our Mencap Training Academy You Will support learners with SEN to complete all elements of the programme in line with requirements byprovidingtailoredsupport. The role will be based in the community classroom of our supported internship programme supporting learners with mild to moderate learning disabilities and difficulties

  • Be accountable for learner progression and ensuring the young adults achieve the skills they need to make progress onto paid employment.
  • You will deliver support invarious ways; 1-1 jobcoaching,working with learners in the classroom to develop employability skills and embed English andMathslearning in the workplace.
  • You will support people to learn the skills they need to go onandachievesustainedpaid employment.

Do you have the key skills and requirements to be a Skills Coach? (essential):

  • Experience of supporting people
  • Experience of delivering against targets
  • Knowledge of safe working practices
  • Knowledge of sector
  • Effective record keeping and reporting
