Job summary

Career Legal is seeking a Matter Management Analyst to support matter setup, maintain client/matter records, and ensure compliance with billing and regulatory requirements.

You will work with the matter team, assist with new client/matter openings, monitor setup, respond to enquiries, and identify process improvements across NBIM. This role supports a leading global law firm’s operations in London.

Qualifications

• Excellent verbal, written and face-to-face communication skills.
• Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel.

Responsibilities

• Work closely with the matter team to ensure new transactions are set up optimally to meet external client and legal requirements and internal reporting/billing requirements.
• Assistance with opening of new clients/matters and generation of matter numbers.
• Monitor the setup of clients/matters to ensure compliance with the regulations and billing/rates requirements, liaising where relevant with the Business Finance, Risk Management and Tax Teams.
• Actioning changes to clients and matters as requested by matter teams.
• Assistance with the setup of eBilling clients.
• Using the information held within the Practice Management system to assist internal clients (lawyers/secretaries) by responding to their enquiries.
• Liaising with the other New Business Intake teams to ensure a joined up and efficient process for the fee earners and PAs.
• Identify process improvements to the internal NBIMatterManagement processes.
• Adhoc projects support for the NBI team globally.
